CAI training course

ASTRA-sponsored CAI Fibre Integrated Reception System (IRS) Distribution Course

Fibre Integrated Reception System (Fibre IRS) is an innovative and cost-effective solution to providing broadcast signals to communal buildings. Fibre IRS can distribute the signals from the communal antennae to each home in a block of flats, providing all with access to digital satellite TV and radio, digital terrestrial TV, FM and DAB radio.

Aims of the course

To explore and investigate the techniques involved in Fibre Optic (F.O.) Communications installations with particular relevance to TV distribution in communal buildings. On completion of the one day course candidates will be able to carry out basic design, assembly and the test of basic Fibre to the home (FTTH) systems.

This course should satisfy reasonable prerequisites for the City and Guilds 3667-02 Level 2.
